Vocal Function Exercises You Can Try
How can I become a famous singer if I do not practice suitable vocal function exercises? Voice projection exercises or vocal function exercises are vital in your quest for stardom.
When you’ve finished your vocal warm up exercises it’s you are ready to proceed to the real job of strengthening your voice. Not every voice drill concentrates on the same elements.
What is a Voice Function Exercise?
Vocal function exercises are defined as “a series of direct, systematic voice manipulations (exercises), similar in theory to physical therapy for the vocal folds, designed to strengthen and balance the laryngeal musculature, and to improve the efficiency of the relationship among airflow, vocal fold vibration, and supraglottic treatment of phonation.” (Clinical Updates in Voice: Voice Therapy for the Twenty-First Century, Symposium October 24, 1999).
How can I be a Famous Singer?
The solution is to find out what you must practice as the building blocks to singing. Among the tricks to improving singing methods are to discover vocal function workouts and practice them diligently.
Vocal Function Exercises (Step by Step)
To be of maximum benefit, vocal function exercises are best done twice daily, each and every day. Each exercise should be performed twice, one after the other. Perform the drills as quietly as you are able to and be sure that there’s a comfortable onset (or initiation of vocalisation). In addition, be sure that you create a forward placement of the tone you’re practising. Putting it another way, avoid using a dark sound, one that’s swallowed.
Step One
Vocalize the sound “eee” maintaining the note for as long as possible. Use the note F above middle C if you are female, and below middle C if you are male. Keep the note soft but avoid breathiness.
In order to do this in the right way, you need a breath that’s well supported and powerful. Produce the “eee” sound with an intense ;forward; focus on the note. It should be approaching nasal but not be totally so. The goal here is to be able to sustain the “eee” sound for as long as you possibly can.
Step Two
Select a word such as ;knoll; and sing it with increasing pitch from the lowest to the highest note. use a tongue or a lip trill. This means feeling the note in your mouth rather than back in your throat. Sustain a forward focus keeping your voice as gentle as you can. Don’t try to force it out of your mouth, let it escape. If you need to, take a break. You need to be able to glide smoothly and without faltering. Again, the aim is to be able to perform this twice through.
Step Three
Here you’ll be need to hold several musical notes for as long as you are able to, this time using the word “ol” as in old, but minus the “d.” You will practice holding the notes C-D-E-F and G. Your lips should be kept rounded. You should feel only the slightest sympathetic vibration on your lips
If you are serious about answering the question, “how can I become a famous singer?”, mastering vocal function exercises is something that cannot be avoided. It will take time and dedication but ultimately, the rewards could be worth it.
